With 25 years experience in urban design, master planning & urban regeneration projects around the World, Dan provides design consultancy services on a range of project types. He has worked in 12 countries and takes great pride in working in different cultures and environments. Projects experience ranges from detailed street design and design guidelines up to new cities and national master plans.

Dan is an Urban Designer, Master Planner and Strategic Planner (UK) with experience working on projects of varying type and scale in 13 countries. Dan has worked in the Middle East for the last ten years and has worked on some of the largest master planning and infrastructure projects in the region including involvement in a number of significant projects including City Walk, Dubai Creek Harbour, Town Square, Dubai Design District and Dubai Hills Estate. He specializes in master planning, urban planning, regeneration & renewal, placemaking and design & architectural guidelines/regulations.

Dan was co-founder and Managing Director of Place Dynamix, overseeing the growth of the Dubai studio to become a leading urban design, landscape and master planning studio in the Middle East. The studio works with clients including Emaar Properties, Meraas, Dubai Holding, Expo 2020, DCCA, and Nshama and has completed 70 projects in 12 countries. Dan also designs a variety of projects ranging from public realm detailed design to residential master plans in Dubai and hospitality master plans in the Indian Ocean. Dan was concept designer for Citywalk, author of Qatar Urban Design Compendium, author of design regulations for Dubai Design District, master planner for Town Square Dubai and leads the design of open spaces, cycle parks and streets.

In his previous position as a regional leader at Woods Bagot, he has been involved in a number of significant master plan projects in the UAE, including Dubai Waterfront, Badrah Community, Nakheel Tower and Harbour and Palm Jebal Ali. Subsequently, Dan was as a group leader of urban design on the Qatar National Master Plan and worked closely with government staff to devise a new method of land use zoning and development control regulation for buildings and streets across the country. Additionally, Dan managed the design and implementation of all new metropolitan, urban and town master plans within the proposed national framework.
